Why do you think multiracial communities work?

People praise integration and multicultural, multiracial communities all the time.  I think they do it because King praised integration.  I understand and share the respect for Dr. Martin Luther King but I don't think that is a good enough reason to support something that doesn't appear to be working.

Put Blacks and whites together and the whites will get scared and start bribing Blacks to have babies out of wedlock.  That's the way it's been for decades now.  It has to stop.

If you're so sure multiracial communities work, what's the evidence?  If an all-Black community can't work, does that mean a Historically Black College can't work?  I doubt it.
